Database Administrator (PostgreSQL / Cloud)

Job Description

Paxton Consultants is seeking a Database Administrator to manage, tune, and secure PostgreSQL and managed cloud databases, with a focus on availability and performance. You will be the steward of critical data systems that applications depend on. Key Responsibilities • Install, configure, and administer PostgreSQL instances including RDS and Aurora deployments • Design and test backup, recovery, and replication strategies to meet recovery objectives • Monitor performance, analyze slow queries, and optimize indexes and configuration • Manage database security, access controls, and patching • Support schema changes and migrations in coordination with development teams • Document procedures and respond to database incidents, including after-hours escalations as needed This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential to convert to a permanent role. This is a remote position open to candidates across the US.
