Kubernetes / Cloud-Native Platform Engineer

Job Description

Paxton Consultants is hiring a Platform Engineer to build internal developer platforms on Kubernetes, with service mesh, GitOps, and golden-path tooling. You will reduce complexity for application teams while keeping the platform reliable and secure. Key Responsibilities • Design, operate, and upgrade production Kubernetes clusters • Build self-service platform capabilities and standard deployment templates using Helm • Implement service mesh solutions such as Istio or Linkerd for traffic management and security • Adopt GitOps workflows with ArgoCD for consistent, auditable deployments • Integrate observability, policy enforcement, and secrets management into the platform • Support developer teams, gather feedback, and continuously improve the platform This is a permanent position. This is a hybrid position based in Austin, TX.
